winter rain
is my least favorite
On January 1st, 2020, I embarked upon a journey of epic proportions. I had challenged myself to take a walk every single day, outside, no matter the weather, for one full calendar year. On January 1st, 2026, I began my seventh year of this journey. Other than a handful of days when I first caught Covid in 2022 and had to modify on our small manual treadmill, every single day has been actually outside.
I struggle to walk in the summer more so than the winter, because heat and I are not friends, but this particular January has been making me stir crazy more than usual because it just.keeps.raining. We had so much beautiful snow at the beginning of December and now we are in these in-between temps that make me hurt and also make everything sneakily slick. Ice sucks. (Both the form of water and the governmental ICE.)
Please bring the snow back.
Meanwhile I’ll just wait till midday on my lunch break and get my daily dose of fresh air. And that will be 2,200 days in a row.
